21 MARCH 1926:
J spent at least part of 1926 starring in a touring production of Sigmund Romberg and Dorothy Donnelly’s The Student Prince. March 21 saw her opening the operetta in yet another city. It ran Sunday-Wednesday, with a matinee offered on the final day. Then it was on to the next town, hotel, theater…
The original musical opened on Broadway in December 1924 and ran for 608 performances! It was in its second New York season when J traveled the country with a road company. She performed the leading role of Kathie. How exciting for her!
“The one that will be seen here comes directly from the big cities of the East, and Messrs. Shubert are positive in their assurance that in every respect it is the equal of the New York company.”
